Mothers Day this year we spent the weekend at Jeff's parents. Jeffs mom has been ill and it was her first weekend home in quite a while. It was nice to make dinner together and hang out. Jeff and I have never made bread before so we were lucky his mom had everything we needed so we made bread and it was good!!!
This next picture is from a while back in March when I finally got my perament residency for Canada!! I can now work in Canada and live here, but too bad its hard to find a job.

Day 8 San Juan, Puerto Rico

After our cruise was over we decided to stay a few extra days in San Juan to enjoy the local scenery. We were suffering from PCD - Post Cruise Depression -  The effects of PCD lasted well after the cruise ended.
On our last day in San Juan we decided to go to the Bacardi Rum Distillery. We took a tour that explained the history of Bacardi. The picture below is outside and everyone who goes on the tour gets two free drinks of any kind of Rum they want. It was nice to have a few free drinks.

This is the entrance of the tour building.

The Bacardi label has a bat on it because back in the day where they made rum, they had bats in the building. So to make it their own label they put the bat on it so everyone would know it was their product.

After the Bacardi tour, we were very adventurous and drove to the far east side of the island(about 45 mins) and went to the El Yunque National Rain Forest. It was amazing how when driving through the rain forest you could actually feel the temperature change the deeper you went into the forest.

Look how thick the forest is, wow.

This is La Coca Falls, it was just off the road so you did not have to hike. They did have hiking trails but we were not prepared to hike.

You can see the ocean from the mountains in the Rain Forest.

We stopped at a lookout tower, we walked up to the top and it was amazing seeing the view get better and better as you get higher and higher. All of these pictures were taken from Yokahu Observation Tower you can see for miles and miles.

After we had our fill of the rain forest we went to a nice beach that was nearby. We went to Luquillo Beach, it was amazing and perfect! This would have been perfect to rent a chair and swim and drink and eat all day, too bad it was cloudy and cold! :(

I love the ocean it was amazing to watch the waves.

I called my mommy to say hi and Jeff took a picture while I was on the phone. My mom thought it was neat to see a picture from when we talked, makes you feel like you were kinda there.

It was a great last day of vacation together before coming home to the real world!!

Day 7 St Thomas

We arrived at St Thomas first thing in the morning. We wanted to take the Sky Ride up the mountain.  Right off the boat there were tons of these lizards everywhere, you actually had to watch where you stepped.

This was the second time on this trip being in a place where they drive on the wrong side of the road. Here is a picture for proof. I dont think I could have driven around if we rented a car, way tooo weird if you ask me.

The ride up was kinda nerve racking. Jeff and I were the only ones in the Tram on the way up. There was only one cruise ship at St Thomas that day and it was ours. The day before they had 6 cruise ships, including the new one from Royal Caribbean which has over 6,500 people!  In this picture you can actually see our cruise ship in the middle of the picture.

At the top of the mountain there was a bar and mmm mmmm good!  Their specialty was called a Bushwacker. It is Baileys, and lots of liquor and fresh nutmeg on top. Talk about good!  Lets just say I would be broke if the cruise ship had these drinks on board! This also was the first time we had internet in over 1 week. I was so excited to check out email and was hoping for news on our immigration.

We stayed up at the bar for hours just dirnking and looking at the wonderful view. I would LOVE to work there!!

Here is our cruise ship, not sure how they guided that big ship in this small area.

On the right side of the picture you can see the Tram we rode up.

It was neat, we actually saw a water plane land. Lots of action with all the boats and planes in the bay.

As you can see the clouds are rolling in... It put a damper on our plans for the rest of the day. We were going to go Megans Bay but it started to rain as we were leaving this gorgous view.

After we left the tram we headed to the flee markets for St Thomas. Some of you may know St Thomas is known for great shopping for great merchandise at a huge discount. So we went to the markets to find me a new wallet and ended up buying me a new Coach purse. SHHHH dont tell anyone its not real!! Ill post picture of that later.

The last picture is of the ship leaving the bay and it is raining. It was a GREAT day of drinking and looking at wonderful views.
